Radically anointed by God to disciple a youthful generation, Bishop Maurice Lamar Irvin is the Senior Pastor of New Beginnings International Christian Center, Okinawa, Japan. He is also the founder and president of Kingdom Solutions, Inc., an organization with the primary focus of teaching Kingdom principles that produce Kingdom results. Bishop Irvin and his wife, Pastor Erica Y. Irvin, have been married 8 years and have two children, Michael O'Ryan, and Nevaeh Devine.
Bishop Irvin was born July 9, 1975 to Ida M. (Irvin) Tarrant in historic Selma, Alabama. He was educated in the Alabama public schools as well as Department of Defense Schools both in the United States and in Europe. Bishop Irvin confessed the Lord Jesus Christ at the age of 10 and was baptized at Community Baptist Church of Fayetteville, North Carolina under Reverend Arthur Wilson. At an early age, the gifts in Bishop Irvin's life began to make room for him. Bishop Irvin served in the Youth and Music Departments of each ministry in which his family was planted during their tour of military service.
Bishop Irvin attended Alabama State University in Montgomery prior to his enlistment into the United States Marine Corps in 1996. During his first tour of duty to Okinawa, Japan, Bishop Irvin accepted the call of God on his life and recommitted his life to Christ. On January 11, 1997, then Minister Irvin, submitted himself to training under the tutelage of Apostle Charles A. Daniels. After leaving Okinawa in 1999, Bishop Irvin had the distinct pleasure of receiving apostolic impartation and the Laying on of hands by two awesome vessels of glory; Apostle Jerlette Mickie of New Light Cathedral in Stafford, VA and Apostle Bertha Shepherd of Miracle Temple in Washington, DC.
The next few years were pivotal for Bishop Irvin's ministry as the Lord used him to discern, dismantle and drive out demonic operatives; establish, confirm and strengthen new or existing churches; penetrate confusion, and refute error through an aggressive preaching style. It was during this time that Bishop Irvin's apostolic anointing began to emerge and he was known as being revolutionary, inspirational and rather radical, while serving faithfully in numerous ministries in Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina.
The Lord once again sent Bishop Irvin to Okinawa, Japan to plant New Beginnings International Christian Center under the auspices of his spiritual father, Apostle Charles A. Daniels. God's miraculous providence is evident in the growth of New Beginnings from a living room to the beautiful 3-story facility where congregants currently worship. Bishop Irvin's leadership is intimately tied to his faith in God, the result, a growing membership, a progressive church infrastructure with a robust youth, teen and family ministry, evangelism ministry, audio ministry, hospitality ministry, and Christian education department.
A dynamic teacher who illuminates the Word of God with excitement, humor, and realism, Bishop Irvin's engaging preaching style speaks to the elect, the backslider and sinner alike, allowing them to receive the "washing of the Word" to renew their walk with Christ or to accept Christ regardless of their own personal situations. His worship and teaching principles allow the Holy Spirit free rein in his life and the lives of his congregants and as a result believers go deeper in their relationship with Christ.
God is using Bishop Irvin to set in place, train, and develop leaders to function according to their call within the five-fold ministry. Bishop Irvin spends countless hours spiritually parenting the leaders God has sent and creates an atmosphere of great expectation of the power of God. The over arching vision God has given Bishop Irvin to train leaders came to fruition in the founding of Kingdom solutions and continues to go forth boldly in NBICC Okinawa's School of Ministry. Bishop Irvin is currently pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. It is the vision of this man of God to present to God's people a ministry that will not only be diverse in cultural dynamics but educating, encouraging, and inspiring. He desires to reach over, through and around every barrier that has set itself up against the body of Christ. |
